I could not find the 2006 Honda CR-V on the compatible list. It has 4 total anchors, designed for the left and right seats, but the inner anchors are further than 11 inches apart. I measured about 18 inches. Can a car seat be installed in the center with LATCH with these specifications?

    • Sarah – you couldn’t find the 2006 CR-V on this list because it does NOT allow the use of LATCH to secure a car seat in the center. This list only includes vehicles that DO allow LATCH in the center.

      • Sarah B says:

What could the reasoning behind not allowing center LATCH if the gap is greater than 11inches? Is there a gap size that is too big? Is it simply because the CR-V manual doesn’t say center LATCH is possible? Because why would they if this is an allowance made after the car manual was printed?

      • The 2007 Honda CR-V is completely redesigned and has 5 lower anchors, not the 4 you have. So it is not that a change was made after the manual was printed, it is that the 2006 and 2007 are not the same vehicle, and therefore have different manuals with different instructions.

Am I reading correctly that Chicco seats are not to be used with center latch?

    • Chicco seats can only be used where the latch anchors are spaced 11 inches apart (standard spacing). There are a few cars where the anchors in the center are 11 inches apart (see the tables as it lists the distance between the lower anchors in the vehicles that allow center latch).
