I believe that height is the best test over age and weight. My 8 year old weighs 85 pounds, but she is only 52 inches. MD law says 8 OR 57 inches. I want her in a booster, but I can’t find one that she fits in comfortably. Do you have a suggestion for boosters for BIG kids?
The 5 step test, not height or weight, is the best way to know if the child is safe to ride without a booster.
Check out the booster slideshow on the homepage of our website – we have some suggestions for boosters for larger kids. You can also view the slideshow directly here – https://docs.google.com/present/view?id=ajfbr9gd8csr_61c27tczdg
Thank you. I agree with the 5 step test. I wish more parents would realize this… Your website is wonderful!
We have the combi coccoro (just registered for the recall fix). my son is 39 inches and 33 lbs. Was wondering when we should make the switch to the booster. Also when we get to the booster, what do you recommend as a good one for someone in NYC who needs it to be portable when we travel and won’t use it too often? Thanks!
